SalvatoreLimina

Salvatore Limina, in his 100th year, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 15, 2022 with his loving family by his side. Beloved husband of Fortunata (2017) for 70 wonderful years. Loving father of Antonino (Jane), Carmelina (Gerry), Vincent (Joan) and Michael (Cathy). Proud nonno of Jessica (Todd), Katie (Chris), Stephanie, Jill (Richard), Brendan, Daniel (Kelly), Kathleen (Jamie), Adam (Katie) and Megan. Bisnonno to Nia, Ruby, Foster, Wyatt, Henry and Simon.

Salvatore was born in Braidi, Sicily March 3, 1923 and emigrated to Canada in 1950 to begin a new life with his young family. He settled in Guelph, Ontario and made it his home. Salvatore was predeceased by his siblings Giovanni Limina (Providenza), Gaetano Limina (Giuseppina), Nicola Limina (Giuseppina), Suor Amadea, Arcangela Ridi (Carmelo) and his brother-in-law Antonio Longo. He is survived by his sister-in-law Rosina Longo. He will be missed by his many nieces and nephews.

Salvatore will always be remembered for his inviting smile and gentle manner. He enjoyed the simpler things in life: sitting and talking with neighbours on the porch, tending his vegetable garden and sharing the fruits of his labour with many, and watching the day go by. He was a calm and peaceful man who embodied the true meaning of life in appreciating each new day.

We extend our thanks to his caregivers from Peace of Mind Care, especially Ann and her team of caregivers Leslie, Sarah, Sherri and Jenn.

Salvatore is resting at the Gilbert Maclntyre and Son Funeral Home, 1099 Gordon St. Guelph, where the family will receive friends and relatives on Monday, September 19, 2022 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm and 7:00pm - 9:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at the Basilica of Our Lady Immaculate, 28 Norfolk St. Guelph, on Tuesday, September 20, 2022 at 10:30am, which would have been their 75th wedding anniversary. We are sure Mom will be awaiting him with open arms and his favourite meal. Entombment at Marymount Mausoleum to follow.
