LOVETT, Frederick Alexander

Posted

Lovett Fred MM

Passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 in his 99th year.

Born March 9, 1923 to Albert and Mabel Lovett. Loving husband for 70 years of the late Betty (2016). Much loved Dad of Lynn Zehr (the late Bob, 2020), the late Carol Mason (2015) (Jim), Tim Lovett (Carolyne) and Nancy Ingram (Scott). Cherished grandfather of Michael, Leigh, Mickie, Chris, Dayne, Erin and Erica. Great grandfather of nine.

Dad was a friend to many and was a social butterfly!  He enjoyed spending his time with friends and family golfing, playing darts, eating his many dinners down at Angels, and was a loyal member of the Royal Canadian Legion. Dad served in the Perth regiment and was part of the battalion that took the Gothic Line in Italy to help end WWII. We are so fortunate to have had the opportunity to take him back in his footsteps to all the places his regiment went during the war. It was an amazing trip that none of us will forget. He spent the better part of his life in partnership with his brother Harry as owner and sign-writer for Lovett Signs Ltd., born and raised in Guelph, he will be missed by many.

Visitation will be held at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph on Thursday, January 20 from 2-4 pm. Guests must sign up to attend using the link on the funeral home website: www.wallcustance.com. A private family service will be held on Friday, January 21 at 1 pm. Guests may attend remotely via Zoom using the link on the funeral home website.

Memorial contributions to the Royal Canadian Legion Col. John McCrae Memorial Branch 234 Poppy Fund would be appreciated.
