MACAULAY, Donald John Gibb

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our much loved husband (Susan Cullis) and father (Angus and Duncan Macaulay), peacefully, with family gathered at his side, on December 5.  Born in Owen Sound in 1947, Don was the fifth of six children born to Goldie and Jack Macaulay.  His cherished sisters are Anne (Paul), Ruthe (Bill), Jessie (Chuck) and the late Jane (Jim, also deceased) and Lois (Al).  Educated in Guelph (B.Sc.), Kingston (B.Ed), and North York (M.B.A.), Don had a successful career in technical and customer service management within the aerospace industry.
 
Don and Susan moved from North York to Guelph in 1987, to raise their sons in a "kinder and gentler community, where there was room to breathe."  He was a longtime, active member of Harcourt United Church and enjoyed a wide range of activities covering sports, theatre, music, reading, cooking, and more.  He was a kind and gentle man, and a good friend to many, especially to his dog-walking neighbours in Kortright Hills, where he was a familiar face along with "Teddy" then "Mya". 
 
Donations to Harcourt United Memorial Church, in Guelph, or to the Guelph Food Bank, would be deeply appreciated by Don's family.
