Joshua Kirkland MacDonald, of Richmond Hill, ON, died on May 3, 2022, in Delta, BC in a traffic accident. He was 27 years old.
He was born in April of 1995, to James and Linda (nee Orf) MacDonald in Ojai, California. Joshua grew up in Rothesay, NB, and graduated from Rothesay Netherwood School. He attended Dalhousie University in Halifax, NS, and Centennial College in Toronto, ON.
Joshua worked as a warehouse shift supervisor and as a bicycle courier. He had volunteered at Rothesay Netherwood School and at the United Way of Greater Saint John, NB.
Josh enjoyed music, philosophy, fishing, kayaking, computer animation and video gaming.
Josh is survived by his parents; his younger brother, Ryan; his paternal grandparents, Jim and Louise MacDonald; his maternal aunt, Inge Orf; and his paternal uncles and aunts, Scott MacDonald, Christopher MacDonald, Christina Martin and Patricia Martin and their families.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Adam and Margaret Orf of Simcoe and Kitchener, ON.
Visitation will be on May 19th at 10 am at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, Guelph, ON, followed by a funeral service at 11 am with The Rev. Kirk T. Summers officiating.
Interment will follow at a later date in Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener, ON.
In honour of Josh’s love of animals, donations may be made to the Etobicoke Humane Society.
