Ruth MacDonald passed away peacefully at Grand River Hospital surrounded by family following a courageous battle with cancer.

Special thanks to the staff of the Intensive Care Unit at Grand River Hospital and Dr. Gerson for their kindness and care.

Predeceased by father and mother, George T. and Jean Appleton. Beloved and devoted wife to Tony MacDonald for 48 years. Loving mother to Taylor and Kevin. Proud grandmother of Sawyer and Jagger MacDonald.

Affectionately known as “Aunt Ruth” to her many nieces and nephews. Ruth will be fondly remembered by family and friends as one of the most gracious, caring and kind people that they had ever encountered.

Ruth's life revolved around her family and supporting those she loved. She hosted numerous gatherings for family and friends over the years.

She lived by the credo “it is better to give than receive”. Ruth was first and foremost “a lady” and she will be sadly missed.

As per Ruth’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service and celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Donation cards are available at the funeral home (519-821-5077) or online at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com
