MacDONNELL, Shannon Mary

Posted

It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Shannon Mary MacDonnell Bogdonov, on Wednesday October 12th at Hospice Wellington in Guelph, Ontario, following a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in New Waterford, Nova Scotia, she was the only child of Wanda MacDonnell (Cowie) and the late Robert MacDonnell. She attended school in New Waterford graduating from Breton Education Centre in 1992. She received her BA Degree at the University College of Cape Breton in Sydney, then her Public Relations Degree from Mount Saint Vincent University in Halifax. Leaving for Ontario, she met the love of her life Dan whom she married and had two beautiful children with.

She further continued her education by attending Algonquin College in Ottawa for a career in the Nursing field, which became her passion. Her years spent at the Guelph General Hospital in the Operating Room were marked by her sense of dedication and keen wit. Her sense of humour and compassion will be missed by all who worked with her and the circle of friends she loved so much.

Left to mourn her are her beloved husband Dan, her two beautiful children Reaghan and Kieran, her mother Wanda, her mother-in-law Brenda Wallace, her step-mother-in-law Sandie Bogdonov, her sister-in-law Lisa Bogdonov and sister-in-law Erin (Mike) Penner, her uncles Eugene (Jackie) Cowie, Whidden (Moira) Cowie and their families, aunts Jean (Bernie) Carpenter and Jessie Brown and their families.

Those who passed before her include her father Bob, her uncle Raymond, her fathers-in-law Paul Bogdonov and Bill Wallace.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, ON. Visitation to take place on Friday, October 21st from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral to take place on Saturday, October 22nd at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
