MacGREGOR, William (Bill) Campbell

MacGregor William MM

You said goodbye like you said hello with a single yellow rose.

(August 19, 1940 - October 9, 2018) - A kind and gentle soul left us late in the evening of October 9th, 2018.  He didn’t want to go but went with grace and dignity.

He leaves his loved wife of 33 years Madeline (Pfaff) and his so loved stepdaughter Eleanore Attwell (the late Dave Law, 2010), and her son Alexander William, so very much loved by his Poppy (Hey Poppy, could I have a ride – never refused). Also survived by great grandson Zander, Alex’s partner Callie and her children, Jordan, Rachel and Katey.  Loved uncle of William (Judy) Young, with whom he shared a name and a birthday, and family of Indian Head, IL, USA, and Rosemary (Earl) Foster and family of Edmonton, AB.

Predeceased by his parents William Duncan MacGregor (1953) and Catherine Margaret McQueen (1978), his sisters Marjory Young (2015) and Mary McLaren (2000), and his niece Wendy Joyce (2005).

Will be fondly remembered by Madeline’s sisters and their families. Fill her up Gary just one more time. Survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

As per Bill’s wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral.  A private inurnment will take place at a later date at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 519-822-0051 or www.wallcustance.com.

If one cares to make a donation in Bill’s memory, please make it a pint of blood, sign an organ donor card, say hello to a senior, a neighbour, a stranger.  Do this with Bill in mind, as he would talk to anyone.  Thank you to the first responders, ER and 4th Floor staff for making sure Bill was not in pain and that he was comfortable.  Thanks don’t seem enough.

October gave a party and the leaves by thousands came.

A tree will be planted in memory of William C. (Bill) MacGregor in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 15, 2019 at 2:30 pm.
