Born October 1st, 1930 and passed away on November 1st, 2022.

He was raised in Liscomb, Nova Scotia by his Grandmother Nora & Aunt Jenny. He moved to Ontario to work at the Mallable Iron at the age of 18. In 1953 he married Mary Elizabeth Gould. They would have celebrated their 70th anniversary in May 2023.

Murray and Mary have 3 children Lynda Moskal (Derek Standring), Nora Smart (Eric) and Jim MacKinlay (Sandy).

Murray and Mary have 8 grandchildren: Jason Grove (Kelly), Brittany Williams (Greg), Kaylie Moskal, Devan Standring, Lisa Pittman (Chris), Daniel Smart, Josh MacKinlay, Amy MacKinlay. He had 6 great grandchildren; Kennedy, Corey, Brennan, Lila, Conner, Alexander & a baby on the way. Murray will also missed by Melik and Remy.

Murray will be missed by family & friends in Nova Scotia; Eileen, Nancy, Gary, John, Michael, Mark, Fern.

Murray loved his time at their trailer in Southampton with his Holiday Park family. He was an avid euchre player, doing puzzles, and fixing old clocks. He never met a dog he didn’t love. He was active his whole life, driving all over, living in his own home, cutting the grass, snow blowing and fixing things. He enjoyed travelling including trips to Branson, Cuba, Las Vegas, an Alaskan cruise and driving trips to British Columbia, and Nova Scotia.

Murray was young at heart and active. In August he celebrated his upcoming 92 birthday with grandson Daniel on a Cessna flight over the Bruce Pennisula.

A celebration of life for family and friends will be held on November 6th from 1-4 PM in the HALL at 302 College Avenue, Guelph with extra parking across the street at Centennial school.
