(1940 – 2023)

Cesare passed away March 19, 2023 the day before his 83rd birthday at St. Joseph’s Health Center, Guelph.

He was born in Castelfranco, Italy, the youngest of six children. He immigrated to Canada as a teenager and lived in Mississauga with his late sister Maria and her family. He completed his apprenticeship as an auto mechanic at George Brown College, Toronto and then worked as a mechanic for over 40 years.

He was a much-loved partner of Joyce Morton for many years. He was a wonderful man and respected by all who knew him. The entire Morton family took him into their hearts and loved him; Julie, (Grant), Karen, Bob, (Bernie), and Laurie. The grandchildren adored him; Christopher, Amber, David, Andrew, Samantha, Curtis and Roberta. He was a cherished uncle and will be truly missed by his nephew Rick (Arlene) Cecchetto and niece Tina (Jim) Turner and great nephews Kenny, Tyler, Ryan, Kyle and Ethan.

Cesare was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #234 Guelph where, along with their friends, Cesare and Joyce danced many Saturday nights. He loved to be outdoors and to garden. The front and back of our home was always filled with flowers.

The family would like to thank everyone at St. Joseph’s Health Center for the wonderful care Cesare received during his stay.

“To love and to be loved is one of the most important things in life.” May you rest in peace my love, Joyce.

Cremation has taken place. As per Cesare’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. Arrangements entrusted to GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph, (519-824-0031). If desired, memorial contributions made in memory of Cesare, to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #234, Guelph, Ontario would be greatly appreciated.
