MAGYAR, Maria

Maria Magyar, in her 85th year, passed away peacefully on October 24, 2019
with her family by her side. Lovingly remembered by her son Alex (Mary) and
grandchildren Amy Grey (Chris) and Adam Magyar (Nikki). Great grandmother and playmate
to Andrew, Zachary, Jason Magyar and Elizabeth and William Grey. Predeceased by her
loving husband Stefan (Pisti) and her parents and siblings in Slovenia. Maria
was a thoughtful, caring soul who loved and doted on her family and friends.
She loved to cook but her passion was baking and would willing offer to bake for large
events and family gatherings. Get togethers were not complete without her freshly
baked perets or cookies. She was so proud of her garden, especially her roses, which she
cherished and lovingly cared for. Growing up on a farm, she learned about hard work early.
She was extremely dedicated and hardworking which shaped her life even to the end.

Visitation will be received at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel,
1099 Gordon St, Guelph, on Sunday October 27, 2019 from 4-6 pm. Funeral
mass will be Monday, October 28th at 10 am at the Basilica of Our Lady, 28 Norfolk
Street, Guelph. Interment to follow at Marymount Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,
donations may be made to the Guelph General Hospital or the Basilica of Our Lady.
