It is with heavy hearts to announce the peaceful passing of James Mahaffie in his 85th year, Saturday April 10th in his sleep.  He was the loving father of Patty and her husband Rob of Niagara Falls.  He is now with the love of his life Darlene (August 2020) and his late children Wayne, Tim, Debbie and Lorraine.   He is the brother of Lloyd Thompson and his wife Marylou of Owen Sound and the late Alice Griffin and her husband Robert.  He is survived by many nieces and nephews.  Jimmy will be missed by his dear friends/neighbors on Alice Street who watched out for him for many years especially Tom, Dani, Dave (his wife Tracy) and Cliff who visited him often.

Thank you to all the support workers from V.O.N. and Meals on Wheels and Natalie (his case worker who visited him weekly).  Jimmy has had a lot of support from the community.  Thank you to his nephew in law Steve Shackell of Morriston for taking him out daily for either breakfast at Angels, his manicures/pedicures, hair cuts, Dr Appointments or just out for a drive.
Their trips to Costco were so much fun as Jimmy says “this is the biggest store I have ever been in as he is riding in a wheelchair thinking it is a go cart.

Due to the coronavirus, there is no service.  There will be a burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park  for the family at a later date. Donation to the Guelph Humane Society 519-824-3091 humane society would be appropriated.

Arrangements entrusted to GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph, (519-824-0031).  We invite you to leave your memories and donations online and they will be forwarded to the family.
