Maki Janet MM

Our “Lady Jan” passed away peacefully with her brother by her side on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Wellington Terrace LTC, Fergus, at the age of 80.  Holy Saturday, "a fitting day for his Aunt Jan to pass" said her nephew Brent.

Beloved wife of the late Allan (2006). Lovingly remembered by her brother Ken and his wife Marlene, nephews Kevin (Julie), Stuart (Shelly) and Brent (Kate), great nephews Axel, Owen and Eli, great niece Rachel, great great niece Emilia Irvine and cousin Roberta Kananaj (Robert).  Also survived by her brother-in-law Eddy, niece Kirsti, and nephew Terry Maki and family.  Jan was predeceased by her father Frank and mother Katharine Irvine.

She was a loving wife, daughter, sister, Aunt, Grammie, friend, and neighbour, who was always willing to lend a helping hand.  Her church and church friends in Espanola and Sudbury were a big part of Jan’s life.  Jan’s love of all animals brought her great comfort.  Thank you to Jan’s loving best friend Bev Redden and her daughters Stacie and Mandy and their families for the love and support given to Jan during her time in Garson and Sudbury and many years prior to that.  Jan was a significant influence in the lives of the Irvine, Reinhardt, Radey and Redden families.  Jan brought joy, happiness and many wonderful memories for her family and friends to cherish.

Thank you also to the staff at Wellington Terrace LTC for their compassionate and loving care.

As per Jan’s wishes cremation has taken place.  A private interment of ashes will take place at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.

As expressions of sympathy, a donation to St. George’s Anglican Church, Espanola, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated.

A tree will be planted in memory of Janet H. Maki in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
