It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Lucy (Serafin) Manno on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at Hospice Wellington at the age of 66 years. Cherished wife of Giuseppe (Joe) Manno and loving and devoted mother to her daughters and sons-in-law, Sara and Ángel, and Sofia and Alex. Lucy is survived by her treasured mother, Bruna Serafin, her dear brother and sister, Jerry Serafin (Faith) and Mary Serafin, both of Guelph. Predeceased by her father, Bruno, mother-in-law, Maria Franceschina, sister-in-law Salvatorina, and brother-in-law, Gino. Survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins in Canada, Italy and France. She was also a loving and doting nonna to her grandpuppy, Ella.

Lucy was a cherished and well-respected educator for 30 years with the last half of her career teaching at John F. Ross C.V.I. as a language teacher (French, Spanish and Italian). She thoroughly enjoyed the challenges and rewards that came with the profession and put her heart and soul into her daily interactions with students and colleagues.

Her family was her everything. She loved nothing more than having her family surrounding her at the kitchen table and enjoying the simple pleasures of sharing life with them - great conversation and great food. We will forever miss these special moments together with her and her incredible warmth, humour, and love of life.

Lucy enjoyed many road trips with Joe and their daughters, traveling across North America and Europe. She took great pleasure in hosting the family, gardening, reading, and spoiling her grandpuppy.

Our utmost thanks to her steadfast group of close friends, and the entire John F. Ross family, both current and past, for their incredible outpouring of support, encouragement, and love over the course of the past two years. We are indebted and humbled by your thoughtfulness and generosity.

A very special thank you to all the angels at Hospice Wellington for the exceptional care and attention given during her stay.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St. Guelph, where the family invites friends and relatives for a visitation on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 2:00pm - 4:00pm and from 6:00pm - 8:00pm. A Funeral Service will take place at Hart Chapel on Saturday, February 24, 2024 at 10:30am. Interment to follow at Marymount Catholic Cemetery.
