Passed away peacefully, after a brief illness, on November 29, 2016 with his family at his side, at Guelph General Hospital. Sterling is pre-deceased by his parents Angus and Alberta Manthorne. He is survived and will be sadly missed by his children, Gary (Sharon), Linda (Brad), Laura (Earl), Gertrude (Bev), Pre- deceased by daughter Janice. Dear father-in law of Ken. He will be extremely missed by his grandchildren Carrie, Vicki, Melissa, Donna, Amanda, Philip, Betty Anne, Travis and Emmanual and his great-grandchildren Nathanial, Bentley, Lincoln, Hunter, Kaylynn, Tyler, Christina, Olivia, Cassandra, Lily and Lucey. Sterling is also pre-deceased by his 6 sisters and 2 brothers.
Sterling was a WW2 Veteran and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch #234 for 71 years.
A Celebration of Life honoring Sterling will be held at The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #234, 57 Watson Pkwy S., Guelph on Saturday December 3, 2016 at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, the family have requested donations to the Poppy Fund Royal Canadian Legion Branch #234
