It is with unspeakable sadness that the family of Nicola (Nick) Angelo Marchione announce his passing at Grand River Hospital, Kitchener June 4, 2022 in his 89th year. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife Helen for over 54 years and his precious daughters Angela his baby and dolly (David Faragher) and Anna. Survived by sister Antonietta Albanese and her husband Virgilio. Sister Maria Annoni (the late Loreto). Predeceased by his parents Giovanni and Elena Marchione. Brothers Antonio and wife Giusepina, Joe and Elena of Italy. Survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends in Canada, Italy, the United States and Toronto.

Nicola was a man of great faith, he prayed daily and served in his church when he was younger in Italy. He loved God and the Blessed Mother so much. He would often say God is love and to love God you must love others. Nicola was a very hard worker, served in the army when he was young in France, Belgium and Italy. He came to Canada at age 27 years old and worked the minute he hit Canadian soil. He worked many years at Canadian General Electric and enjoyed later in life being a limo driver.

He enjoyed vacations with the family, going to Florida yearly, the cottage in Bobcaygeon, and hunting with his friends. He also enjoyed fresh fruit, Italian music and attending the horse races with his bambina daughter Angela and playing cards with friends. He loved to laugh and have a good time, going to the parks and watching his Italian soccer and the Price is Right, Let’s Make a Deal, Family Feud and wrestling.

Special thanks to all who supported the family these past few months, Jerry and Marg Hauser, George Dicicco, Mary O’Conellle, Ash Sanchan and Sean Simone. Special thanks for spiritual support to Fr. Boyd and Fr. Rodger of Holy Rosary Church, Fr. Phil Egitto of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Daytona Beach Florida and Fr. Laszlo.

A vigil will be held on Tuesday in the funeral home at 8 p.m. A funeral mass will be held at St. John’s Church, 45 Victoria Road North, Guelph on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 11 a.m. Entombment at Our Lady Immaculate Mausoleum, Marymount Cemetery. The family kindly asks that masks are worn.

From God we come and to God we return.
