MATHIESON Murray Kendal

It is with heavy hearts that we announce Murray’s passing after a brief but valiant battle with pancreatic cancer. Murray, in his 86th year, leaves behind his wife and best friend Fran Corner Little. Loving father of Heather (Brian McMillan), Sandy, Bruce (Karleen Bird) and Jean (Mark Vanderheyden). Proud grandfather of Matthew, Andrew, Jessi, Kristen (Max), Hannah, Jacob and Abigail. He was pre-deceased by son Bruce and his first wife Trudy Orr. Elder brother to Miriam Barry and Neil Mathieson and remembered by seven nieces and Fran’s children.

Dad was a 25 year plus member and past president of the Guelph Men’s Club; a member of the Guelph Wellington Seniors Association and a founding member of the Evergreen (GWSA) Canoe Club. Dad enjoyed singing in the Men’s Club Choir and the Harcourt Memorial United Church Choir and served on Harcourt’s finance committee. By far Dad's greatest pleasure was family gatherings.

We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff and volunteers of the Hospice Wellington for their excellent care.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 1 p.m. at Harcourt Memorial United Church, 87 Dean Ave, Guelph. A reception is to follow (to be confirmed).

Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL (519-822-0051/ www.wallcustance.com).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Hospice Wellington would be very appreciated by the family.

A tree will be planted in memory of Murray K. Mathieson in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 2:30 pm.
