Peacefully passed away on Tuesday, January 25th, with his family by his side.
Dear son of Sebastian Mattucci and Bambina (nee Dettor)
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Iolanda (nee Veri), and brothers Vincenzo (Francesca), Giovanni (Giovina) and sister Angela (the late Fiore). Pre-deceased by his sister Grazietta (the late Giovanni), and brother Domenico (the late Lucia).
Loving father (Papa) to Luciano Mattucci and the late Marisa (nee Vettor), loving grandfather (Nonno) to Rino (Jessica), Desi and Carlos and the late Amadeus, loving great-grandfather (Bisnonno) to Julian. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, and will be dearly missed by all.

Carmine was born on January 9, 1929 in Rocca San Giovanni, Chieti, in the D’Abruzzo region of Italy. He immigrated to Canada in 1966 with his wife Iolanda and son Luciano, to begin a better life for himself and his family. In Canada, as a specialist in cement finishing, he found work in the growing infrastructure industry throughout Southern Ontario and pursued this occupation for 29 years.

Upon retirement, Carmine and his wife enjoyed returning to his home town in Italy, where he always enjoyed what the Adriatic seashore offered, from catching crabs, octopus and mussels for delicious seafood meals with his family, or just relaxing on the beach with his family and friends. Carmine and Iolanda also enjoyed annual vacations to Acapulco Mexico with their close friends and family.

A private family funeral service will be held at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph on Friday, January 28, 2022 at 2 p.m. All are welcome to live stream the service on the internet via ZOOM. Link can be found on the funeral home website.
