Passed away unexpectedly on February 2, 2023, at the age of 81 years. Beloved wife of Bob McCulloch. Proud and loving mother of Keri (Mark) Johnson of Guelph, Kim (Todd) Richardson of Copetown and Travis McCulloch of Kitchener. Grandmother to Taylor (Joe) Johnson, Braden Johnson, Lauren (Steve) Schnurr, Brittany (Katrine) Richardson and Kaitlyn Richardson. Great Grandmother to Jameson Schnurr and Jack Schnurr. Cherished by sister Glenda (Gary) Corbett of Burlington. Fondly remembered by her cousins, nieces and nephews.
Cathie was born in Parry Sound and raised in Gravenhurst where she had a memorable youth enjoying all that Muskoka had to offer. She attended business college in Barrie and upon graduation, settled in Guelph where she started a family.
Cathie was a strong, independent woman who instilled the same values in her daughters. After 7 years off to raise her girls, she worked as a secretary until her retirement in 2007.
Cathie enjoyed a very active life including volley ball, slow pitch, golf and curling. She was a sharp
card player and played a mean game of horseshoes and corn hole. Cathie had an intelligent, quick wit and a fantastic sense of humour. She loved a great party and was never the first to leave.
Cathie was very fashionable; her hair, clothes, jewelry and make up were always perfect. She was a great cook and made the best turkey gravy. Cathie was enthusiastic to watch and cheer on her children and grandchildren at their sporting events and dance recitals.
In their many years together, Cathie and Bob enjoyed traveling. Being at a cottage, especially Sauble Beach, was her favourite.
Cathie was a great friend to all her theatre friends, curling friends, coffee friends and former coworkers at Euclid-Hitachi.
We request all of Cathie’s loved ones to join us in celebrating her beautiful life at The Guelph Country Club, 133 Woodlawn Road, East, Guelph, ON N1E 7H9 on Saturday February 11, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm.
