Predeceased by the love of her life Clarence (Joe) McDonald (1995). Also predeceased by her parents Glenn and Dorothy McKen. She leaves behind her son John (Ingrid), Paul (the late Brenda, 2017), David (Donna), Cheri Walsh (the late Ken, 2017), Lori Wolfe (Jim), Glenda Deverell (Glenn), Jane Goforth (Noel), Scott McDonald and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Predeceased by Victoria Goforth, (1997).
She is survived by her sisters, Shirley Strub (the late Willy), Anne and Ron Bennett, Judy and Neil Smith, and sister-in-law Shirley Harris. Predeceased by brother Ralph McKen (the late Jean). Fondly remembered by Sue McDonald. Will be fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Barbara lived her life for her children and grandchildren, she was loved and will be greatly missed by all.
In the early years of their marriage, mom and dad spent many summers with the family at Wasaga Beach. They enjoyed their road trips to Florida, Branson MO, Wheeling WV and down east to name a few. Mom was definitely born to be a mother; her spirit, generosity and acceptance were unconditional.
Cremation has taken place. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051, on Saturday, February 20, 2021. Guests may join a Zoom streaming of the service via Barbara’s notice on the funeral home website. Interment will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park, Guelph at a later date.
Heartfelt thanks to the nurses and doctors of 7 East for their care and compassion during mom’s brief stay.
Memorial contributions to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Guelph Wish Fund for Children or the Juravinski Cancer Centre would be appreciated.

A tree will be planted in memory of Barbara G. McDonald in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
