Passed away suddenly on May 3, 2021, at St. Joseph’s Health Centre Guelph.
George, at the age of 98 was content, and still sharp of mind.  He was an avid reader throughout his life and continued reading most days. As well, he completed cross word puzzles keeping his mind sharp, aside from the occasional memory lapse.  He looked forward to his daily phone calls with Lisa and with Kelli and had many stories to share from throughout his life as well as his interests.
George was known around Guelph as ‘Dice’, a nickname given to him by his brother John as young children.  Although he didn’t like to talk about it, he was a veteran. His working life was at Armco, where he worked for many, many years until he retired. He walked many a mile throughout his years and was a known face at the Legion at one time.  Wheelchair bound in his last few years; George moved to a long-term care home in 2018.  Between Golden Years in Cambridge and St. Joseph’s in Guelph, they ensured resident safety and care. He was well cared for between the homes together with his friends Lisa, Rick and Kelli.
He is predeceased by his first wife and love, Olive; his brother, John; his second wife and love, Norma; Norma’s children Pat and Joan.  As well as many friends.
Survived by Norma’s son Larry; Norma’s grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  As well as several very close friends.
~There are friends, there is family, and then there are friends that become family~
George will be greatly missed by Lisa, Rick, Alycia and Melanie, as a part of their family and daily life, our hearts are heavy.
A private service to celebrate George’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051
