(April 23, 1944 - October 7, 2019) - Mrs. Dolores McLachlan passed away peacefully at St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Guelph, with her daughter by her side, on Monday, October 7, 2019 at the age of 75 years. She was the beloved wife of the late Douglas McLachlan (June 20, 2019) for 57 years. Dolores was mother of Duane, Darren (Maria), and Debra (Nat Visentin) and grandmother of Sarah (Patrick Brown), Melissa, Whitney, Ryan (Kelly), Zachary, Brock, Richard, and Nathan. She was the proud great-grandmother of Benjamin Brown.
Dolores was predeceased by her parents William and Susan Lahay; in-laws Eldon and Nellie McLachlan, as well as brothers Charlie (Ruby), Leonard aka "Ben", Norman(Betty), and Ronald (Violet) Lahay, and sisters Ruby (Harry) Campbell, Helen (Ross) Brennan, and Elaine (Ernie) Tryon. She will be remembered by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Dolores was a long-standing employee at the University of Guelph in the Graduate and Independent Studies’ Departments. “Joey” will find peace once again being reunited with “Dougie”.
Thank you to the nurses and doctors in the Emergency Department at the Guelph General Hospital and the Fourth Floor Health Care Team at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Guelph. On behalf of Dolores’ wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral. Cremation has taken place. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME, 519-822-0051.
