McLean Gayle MM

Aged 86, passed away early Easter morning at Hospice Wellington, Guelph following a two-year courageous battle with cancer.

Predeceased by Bevis McLean, her beloved husband of 53 years, Gayle loved her family and friends and was determined to spend her remaining days celebrating the events of their daily lives and the achievements and milestones of their journeys.

She will be greatly missed by her only sister Karin (Murray), her children Bradley (Brigid), Craig Lachlan (Liv), Gaylyn (Chris), her grandchildren Hudson (Crystal), Merrill (Melissa), Jamie (Peter), Taylor, Amanda, David (Megan), Jacob (Olivia), nephew Shawn (Danny), niece Shannon (Mark). Gayle will live on in the stories that will be told to her three great granddaughters Mackenzie, Myra and Naomi. They will know that Gayle had a very affirming and accepting attitude toward others and was always interested in the stories they had to tell. They will admire that though she didn’t bake cookies or knit sweaters, she created beautiful environments and carried herself with genuine style and grace.  And when shown a photo of their great-grandma, they will recognize the delight in life and family that sparkled in Gayle’s eyes.  Gayle was loved and will be missed.  Her family and her friends were blessed to have known her.

A celebration of Gayle’s life will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, April 22, 2022 at Trinity United Church, 400 Stevenson St N. Guelph.  COVID restrictions will be honoured.  Physical distancing and masking will be appreciated.  A reception with refreshments will follow in Trinity Hall. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.

If you wish, donations may be made in Gayle’s memory to a charity of your choice.
