Born in Kingston Jamaica, passed away peacefully at Mt. Sinai Hospital, Toronto on Monday, September 4, 2018 at 8:00 pm, with his family by his side.
Beloved husband of Hilda. Loving father of Sandra, Genia and Morgan-Paige. Predeceased by his brother Fitzroy on March 17, 2018, lovingly remembered by his sisters Dr. Rosetta Clare, Patrika Yvonne Daws and Annmarie Pulos.
Howard met Hilda in Nassau Bahamas. They married on February 24, 1979 and moved to Canada in 1980, initially settling in Collingwood. Over the years, they lived in Huntsville, Cambridge and moved to Guelph in 2001 where the family home remains.
Friends will be received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Sunday 3-5 pm. Memorial service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, September 10, 2018 at 11 am. Reception to follow in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre.
Memorial contributions to the Christadelphian Meal-A-Day Program or the Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation would be appreciated.
A tree will be planted in memory of Howard E. Melbourne in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 15, 2019 at 2:30 pm.
