Passed away peacefully in her 89th year at
Hospice Wellington in Guelph on March 16, 2021.
From the start, Marg had the gift of gab and never met a man, woman or
child that she wasn’t happy to talk to. As the oldest daughter in a
family of 7 children, she had a front row seat to all the antics of a
busy Italian family. Add some chickens in the backyard, a large
vegetable garden, some bunnies, the occasional goat – it was a lively
household. As the siblings got married and added to the extended
family, the large Sunday night dinners were memorable - lots of food,
always loud, and always fun. Marg spent several years working in Guelph
as a highly regarded legal secretary before she moved to Hamilton to get
married and start her family. As a mother of three, she still found time
to enjoy activities at the local church, singing with Sweet Adelines,
and oil painting. She had a regular circle of friends that she enjoyed
going out with to movies, restaurants, theatre, and especially dancing.
After her children were grown, Marg went back to school and returned to
work again, making new friends and colleagues along the way. Always
independent, she loved living in her home and puttering around the
garden, only moving to a retirement home at the age of 82. Marg never
lost her love of chatting with people, good food, good music, and
dancing - in fact, at the age of 85 her now legendary dance moves stole
the show at her granddaughter’s wedding.

Marg was a loving mother to Karen, Karl, and Christine, mother-in law to
Frank and Katrin, and a dear grandmother to Kristen, Justin, Nicole and
Jasmine. Beloved daughter of the late Gerlando and Josephine Ferringo,
and sister to Jerry Ferringo (predeceased), she will be lovingly
missed by her siblings Michael Ferringo, Sandy Ferringo, Carlo
(Gillian) Ferringo, Nancy (George) Pigozzo, and Linda (Joe) Fabbian all
of Guelph. She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and
nephews, extended family in Guelph, and many dear friends and neighbours
in Hamilton and Guelph.
The family would like to take this opportunity to thank the staff at
Stone Lodge Retirement Home in Guelph and The Villa Italia Retirement
home in Hamilton where Marg received wonderful care and had many happy
memories. A special thank you to all of the staff at the Hospice
Wellington and Guelph General Hospital for their exceptional care and
support in her final days.

In keeping with Marg’s wishes, cremation has taken place and a private
family service will be held at a later date. Internment of cremated
remains will take place at Marymount Cemetery in Guelph with her beloved
parents and brother Jerry.

In memory of Marg, and in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to:
Hospice Wellington in Guelph, The Heart and Stroke Foundation, or The
Arthritis Society.
GO IN PEACE AND KNOW YOU WERE LOVED
