Sherry and Bonnie Middleton sadly announce the peaceful passing of their father, at St. Joseph’s Health Centre, Guelph, on December 30, 2020 at the age of 77.
Butch was predeceased by his parents Russell and Ethel Middleton, and siblings Betty, Donna, Audrey, Joyce, Harry, Ralph, Stew and Jerry. He is survived by his sisters Gloria, Lillian and Judy, and his wife, Gail Middleton. He will also be missed by many nieces, nephews and friends.
There were some special times during the last few weeks of Butch’s life. Sherry enjoyed some calm moments with him, talking about Christmas and decorating his room with lights and a little tree. He was happy when his sister Gloria came with gifts of ice cream and Jersey Milk chocolate bars. Bonnie enjoyed hearing stories about his life, especially that he loved growing up in a big family because they made their own baseball team, and that he wanted to be a truck driver.
A special thank you to Aunt Gloria, whose love for her brother was steadfast and strong. She visited him almost daily and was a pillar of support for Sherry and Bonnie. We know that many people would have liked to visit him in the hospital, but sadly were unable to due to COVID-19 restrictions.
We hope that as Butch was passing through the gates of heaven, he was driving the truck of his dreams.
