(October 3, 1957 – September 26, 2018) - It is with heavy hearts that we share the tragic passing of our dearly loved son, brother, dad, bapa, partner, and friend on September 26, 2018, a week shy of his 61st Birthday. Jack was proud of his children, Ryan (Tyrena) and Brittany (Jeff) and truly enjoyed his time with his grandchildren Owen and Colton. He will also be dearly missed by his Mom Gertrude, his late father Jack and his brother Grant. The last few years, Jack spent with his loving partner, Maria Dorsey, in Toronto. Maria’s family welcomed Jack with open hearts. Jack will be deeply missed by Maria and her daughters, Alexandra and Stefanie Dorsey as well as their beloved dog Quincy. New and old friends, neighbours, and workmates were always in Jack’s thoughts. Jack’s mantra was always, “it could be worse”. He lived his life to the fullest, Jack was just the best.
There will be two Celebrations of Life for Jack:
Toronto: Sunday, October 21, 2018 at the Working Dog Saloon from 1-4pm
Guelph: Sunday, October 28, 2018 at the Royal Electric Bar and Eatery from 3-6pm
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Bridgepoint Foundation would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Jack Miehm in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 15, 2019 at 2:30 pm.
