It is with great sadness that our family shares the news of Gloria’s sudden passing in Guelph on Thursday, March 3, 2022, in her 71st year. Beloved mother of Cheryl (Brent) and Micheal (Leslie). Gloria was a proud grandmother to Matthew, Nolan, Ava, Sean and Mitchell. Predeceased by her parents Glen and Florence Malott. Gloria will be loved and remembered by her siblings Priscilla, Jim, Glenda, Joy, Edward, and their families. She will be missed by her neighbourhood friends, and her art group friends with whom she enjoyed many laughs and chats through the years and received so much help and support from.

Gloria was a free spirit who always loved hard and fierce. She had many friends from her years at Imperial Tobacco, where she met her best friend, Shirley. When she had her dogs, Simon and then Angus, she would walk in her neighbourhood and always stop to speak with whomever she crossed paths with. She loved her neighbours – Brad, Shelley, Kyle and Christopher, Tammy, Linda and many more. Their help and support meant the world to her. Gloria loved her home and her little back yard, where she would welcome anyone for a visit; she was especially proud when her garden was in its glory!

Since retirement Gloria became an avid painter and met many new friends as she practiced her art. She enjoyed their company, and many friendships grew outside of art class - Kim, Dale, Shirley, and so many more. Their butter tart runs and trips to see Peter and Bonnie where epic and she loved telling her family about her adventures!

Gloria will be forever loved and missed by her family and friends. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, Diabetes Association or to the charity of your choice, would be appreciated.

A memorial visitation will be held at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph. on Wednesday, March 9, 2022 from 7 - 9:00 p.m. and on Thursday, March 10, 2022 from 12 – 1:00 p.m. with the memorial service following at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.  The wearing of a mask is mandatory for attendance.  We invite you to leave your memories and donations online at:  www.gilchristchapel.com and they will be forwarded to the family.
