MONKHOUSE, Robert Edward 'Ted'

A special person has left us. Robert Edward (TED) George Monkhouse died on March 3, 2023, at the age of 84, leaving behind Barbara, his wife and best friend of fifty-five years. Ted will be missed by his sister Jacqueline Salmona (Uri), brother John (Anne), nieces Sara (Martha), Maya, Laine (Vinnie) and nephew Neil (Angela).

Ted, Master of Library Sciences. University of Western Ontario, a teacher and library consultant with the Wellington County Board of Education, Guelph, has taught school librarianship in Canada and Africa, published in several journals and was a former president of the Canadian School Library Association. After retirement, Ted and Barb enjoyed traveling to many countries throughout the world.

Friends will miss Ted’s annual Christmas Procrastination Letter which described events and travels for the year, in Ted’s own incredible writing style. A friend to many, Ted will be remembered for his kind heart and strong handshake.

A Celebration of Life for Ted Monkhouse, will take place on March 15, 2023 at 2:00pm at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N, Guelph. Reception to follow service. Burial of ashes at a later date.
