Passed away just 1 day short of her 99th birthday on Thursday, June 22, 2023, with her family by her side.

Margaret is predeceased by her loving husband James Albert (1996) and by her brother, James Alexander Kennedy (1974). She was the proud mother of Paul of Guelph and John of Toronto. She will be fondly remembered by her Kennedy cousins in Oakville. Margaret was born to James Kennedy and Elizabeth Chesser Kennedy on June 23, 1924 in Collingwood, Ontario. She was a Member Emeritus R.N.A.O. Margaret moved to Guelph in 1938 and became a graduate of St. Joseph’s School of Nursing, Class of 1945.

She completed her post graduate course in the operating room at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto. She enjoyed her nursing career at St. Joseph’s, Guelph, the Guelph General Hospital, the Shriner’s Hospital in Montreal, in Bermuda, ending her career in 1989 at Groves Memorial Hospital in Fergus. Margaret attended St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church on Norfolk Street in Guelph since September, 1945. Travels took her to England, Scotland, Alaska, Hawaii and many of Canada’s provinces.

Friends may call at GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph from 10 – 11 a.m. on Monday, June 26, 2023 with the funeral at 11:00 a.m., reception in the Trillium Room of the funeral home, then burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.
