John Michael Motto of Guelph, Ontario, passed away on the 3rd day of July, 2021, at the age of 49.
He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his surviving family including daughter Mallory, son Ryker, and their mother Victoria, his mother Rosemary, brothers Brian and Jeffrey, sister-in-law Anne, and nephew Corey. John was predeceased by his father John Peter Motto.
Born in the State of Pennsylvania, John was very accomplished in academia and a proud alumnus of both Bucknell University, and the University of Guelph. He earned a Bachelor's degree in chemical engineering and a Master’s degree in chemistry while at Bucknell, followed by a Master’s degree and Ph.D. in organic chemistry while at Guelph.
He adored and was fiercely proud of his two children, Mallory and Ryker. In his leisure time, as an avid and skilled guitarist, John drew inspiration and joy from celebrating his faith and worshipping through music. He was also a dedicated fan of his home state Philadelphia Flyers and Philadelphia Eagles.
The family would like to thank Guelph General Hospital, St. Joseph's Health Care Centre, the Victorian Order of Nurses, and the other various health care services who all compassionately contributed to his care over recent months. A celebration of John’s life will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at 2:00 pm. Guests must sign up by clicking the link on the funeral home website - www.wallcustance.com.
