Myhr Lillias SS

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our sweet Mom & Grandma on January 16, 2021 in Guelph, Ontario in her 95th year. We were so blessed to have had such a loving and caring mom for so many years. She was devoted to her family and her unending love was our foundation. Her final gift was giving us the time to hold vigil and say goodbye. We have so many beautiful memories and we know that she will always be with us in spirit.

Lillias was born on a farm near the small village of Moore Park, Manitoba to John and Margaret McLean where she joined her older brothers Jim and Bill. Encouraged by her brother Jim to apply to University of Manitoba, this shy farm girl ventured out into the world and never looked back. Graduating in 1947 in Home Economics, she travelled to Montreal to do post-graduate work in Commercial Dietetics at the T. Eaton Co. and worked in the store dining room. In 1949 she began work at the University of Manitoba where she met the love of her life, Allan Myhr (predeceased in 2004). They enjoyed 52 years of marriage raising three children Ron (Jutta Smolarz) of Guelph, Ken (Katrina Anderson) of Toronto and Terri (Dave Fellowes) of Victoria. Lillias was so thankful for and truly blessed with two wonderful grandchildren Aiden and Charlotte whom she loved dearly.

Lillias was the perfect hostess to many a gathering of family and friends in her home and always had a smile for everyone she met. She had a mild manner with a steely determination to get things done. She spent her life taking care of all the little details that made our lives special.

Lillias will be sadly missed by her many friends, her numerous Myhr and McLean relatives whom she always loved to hear about, and Lesley George whose compassionate care and support was a blessing. We will so miss her warm hugs, beautiful smile, gentle laugh and constant concern for our wellbeing. She will be in our hearts forever and always. Love you bunches!

As per Lillias’ wishes, cremation and a private family celebration of her life has taken place. She will be interred along-side her husband in Preeceville, Saskatchewan. We hope that your memories of Lillias will make you smile and we welcome you to share them with us online. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 519-822-0051

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Victoria Conservatory of Music, Hospice Wellington, or your charity of choice would be appreciated by the family.

A tree will be planted in memory of Lillias H. Myhr in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
