Passed away on Monday, March 14, 2016, at home in his sleep.

Louis' 95 years of life were filled with love, family, and friends.

He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Gladys (nee Miller) (1997), and by his eldest son Brian (2013).

Louis is survived by daughters Teresa (Roger) and Jane, by sons Paul (Maureen) and Dave (Betty) and by his daughter-in-law Joanne.

He is survived by ten grandchildren--Laura, Chris, Michelle, Sean, Josh, Dan, Brittany, Richard, Andrew and Thomas and by four great-grandchildren, Noah, Xander, Maya and Rory.

Born in St Giorgio de Morgeto, Calabria, Italy, in 1920, Louis came, with his beloved mother Theresa (nee Alviano), to Guelph in 1922, to where his father Joseph had travelled ahead and settled.

In Guelph's St. Patrick's Ward, Louis and his friends founded the Italian Canadian Club of Guelph, where he was the club's first treasurer.

Employed at the Eaton Stove Company for 25 years, Louis, in 1952, built, on Alice St., the home he and Gladys were to live in for the rest of their lives.

For sixteen years prior to retirement, Louis was custodian of the newly-constructed St Patrick's elementary school.

He enjoyed over 30 years of healthy, active retirement starting in 1985, marred only by the loss of his beloved wife, whom he recalled with great fondness up to his very last days.

Friends are invited to meet with the family at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, on Monday, March 21, 2016 from 7-9 p.m. and then, on Tuesday, March 22, 2016 from 9-11 a.m. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation on Tuesday, in the funeral home chapel, at 11 a.m. Interment, Marymount Cemetery, Guelph.
