NEGUS, Joseph Orland

Passed away unexpectedly at home on Sunday, December 4, 2022 at the age of 72 years. Orly was the beloved husband of the late Barbara (nee Way deceased 2008) and Tyilla (nee Irvine deceased 2022). He was the proud and loving father of Sheila Gaetz (Casey), Mary Jackson (Blair) and Raymond Ringer (Deb). Cherished Papa of Kevin Gaetz (Genevieve), Cassandra Novak (Devon), Lexy Howitt (Eric), Nicole Heiland (Kyle), Courtney Gaetz, Alisha Jackson (Jason), Amanda Lilley, Trista Lilley, Jase Jackson and great grandpa of 12. Dear brother of Edith Osmond (Tony), Shirley May Triger (Roger), Richard Negus (Cathy) and the late Vern Negus. Brother-in-law of David Way and Linda Bourget (Gilles). Fondly remembered by nieces, nephews, Tyilla’s family, dear friends, extended family at 85 Neeve St. and by his AA community to which he belonged for over 39 years. Fred, Orly’s best friend and 4-legged side kick, who was so loved by everyone he came in contact with, will continue to be a comfort to Orly’s family as he adjusts to life without his person. He is predeceased by his mother, Shirley in 2001 and his father Richard in 2015. Orly (also known as Joe) will be remembered for his selfless acts of kindness – always prepared to drive fellow neighbours to appointments, go out to lunch with them or just have a chat. His giving spirit will never be forgotten. Arrangements entrusted to GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph, (519-824-0031). Cremation has taken place.
