Of Guelph, passed away peacefully with his loving wife and daughters by his side at the Guelph General Hospital on August 20, 2022, at the age of 88.
He was the beloved husband for 56 years to Patricia Elizabeth Newson (nee Burns).
Loved father of Michelle (John) Mann – grandchildren - Kevin (Tessa), Kristin (Lucas), and Michael, Sonya (Craig) Young – grandchildren - Jessica (Kyle), Tyler (Marlee), Stephanie (Ken) and Lindsay. He is predeceased by his parents Harry and Marion, brother Ron, and is survived by his sister-in-law Faye.
As a pastor of Rosedale Alliance church, in Guelph, he was faithful in serving God who he loved with all his heart.
As the head of the history department at GCVI, Clare’s American history trips were always a highlight for students and teachers alike.
His love of trips led to the creation of Clare Newson Travel and interacting with those who faithfully travelled with him for many years.
