It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of Michael (Mike) Nichols. On Friday March 29th, 2024 at Hospice Wellington after a courageous battle with cancer, Mike entered into the presence of his Saviour.

Mike will be so deeply missed by his dear wife Pam, his children Katie (Tom) Spinks, Bethany (Scott) Stephenson, Joshua (Rachel) Nichols, and his step-children Erin (Andrew) Melo, and Heather Baxter. Mike will be dearly missed and remembered by his nine grandchildren: Addyson, Graylynn, Cove, Makaila, Lyric, Everly, Peyton, Emersyn, and Tori. Mike was predeceased by his loving mother Barbara Nichols. He will be lovingly remembered by his sister Mary-Beth (Ken) Kee, his niece Rebekah and nephew Nathan.

Mike was born on June 5th, 1960 in Orillia, ON. He was a devoted husband, caring dad and grandpa, a great brother, and a friend to many. Mike valued hard work, providing exceptional care for his clients over the past 24 years as a financial advisor. Mike loved travel, music, and a good game of golf. He loved time at the cottage with the family and visiting his home away from home in Arizona throughout the years.

Mike’s first priority in life though was his faith in Christ. He has modelled a life of faith for which his family is forever grateful. Mike faithfully served in a variety of churches within the Fellowship of Evangelical Baptist Churches sharing his gifts in financial planning and leadership development. He also had a heart for Heritage Bible College and Muskoka Bible Center, where he served many years as a board member and even as interim director for a summer at MBC. Mike was first diagnosed with cancer nearly 11 years ago and was miraculously sustained by the Lord, having been gifted many more incredible years with his family and friends. The family is especially grateful that Mike could receive such great care from Pam at home for the past 6 months and for the wonderful care provided to Mike and his loved ones during his 10 day stay at Hospice Wellington as well. While Mike will be so dearly missed, his family takes great joy in the fact that he is now made well and at home with his Saviour.

Family and friends will be received at Forward Church (55 Franklin Blvd., Cambridge) for visitation on Tuesday April 2nd from 6:00-8:00pm and a funeral will be held there on Wednesday April 3rd at 11:00am.

In lieu of flowers, sympathy may be expressed through donations to one of the ministries that Mike was passionate about: Cedar Home Lebanon and Hospice Wellington.
