It is with great sadness and broken hearts that the family of Andrzej (Andy) Jerzy Okula announces his passing on Saturday, December 23, 2017, at the age of 48. Andy was born in Warsaw, Poland, and loved his home country (and Warsaw soccer team Legia) just as much as he loved Canada.
Andy was a courageous cancer survivor, and will always be remembered for his sense of humour through both good and difficult times.
Beloved husband of Margaret and proud father of Monica (Trevor), Jessica (Steven), and Jacob (Emily). Loving grandfather to Ellie and Abby. Cherished son of Jerzy and Irena, brother of Basia (Rafal) and Marek (Jola). Andy will be greatly missed by all of his many family and friends in Poland, as well as all of his friends in Canada. He will especially be missed by his loyal companion, Misia, who always laid by his side and brought a smile to his face.
The family will receive friends at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph on Thursday, December 28, 2017 from 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church 98 Alice St. Guelph, on Friday, December 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m.
