Mary Jane O'Neill, 74, of Guelph passed away on December 12, 2021 with her family by her side after a brief illness. Mary was a kind and compassionate person who was a voracious reader and had a sharp sense of both humour and style. Mary will be deeply missed by her loving children Adam Lockett and Jessica Lockett. The light of Mary's life over the last three years has been to be "Grammy" to her much loved and adored granddaughter, Josephine (O'Donnell). Mary will be fondly remembered by Bob Lockett. Mary is predeceased by her parents, William and Rita (née Murphy), her older brother, Timothy, and her sister-in-law, Beverly. Cherished niece of Eileen Seifred (née Murphy). Loving eldest sister of Terry, Meg, Maureen, Steve, Shelagh, and sister-in-law to Wendy, Sergey, and Maureen. Beloved aunt of Jenny, Michael, Erin, Greg, Danielle, Ryan, Sean, Shannon, Caitlin, Andrew, and Jeff. Cherished Great Aunt to many adored great nieces and nephews. Mary will be remembered very fondly by many cousins and numerous friends. The family wishes to thank the medical staff of the Intensive Care Unit at Guelph General Hospital for all their care and compassion.

Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin St. N., Guelph, where the family will receive their friends on Sunday, December 19, 2021 from 11:30 a.m. – 2 p.m. To attend the visitation you must RSVP your attendance on the funeral home website. Masks are mandatory and social distancing guidelines are to be followed. A private family service will follow in the chapel at 3 p.m. Due to Covid -19 capacity restrictions, the service is by invitation only.
The family will be planning a celebration of life event in May 2022, details to be confirmed at a later date.

The Funeral Service will be live streamed and guests are invited to view the service by clicking on the zoom link, under Mary’s obituary.
