Of Guelph, passed away peacefully at Hospice Wellington surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, September 17, 2016, in his 69th year. Beloved husband and best friend of 46 years to Grace (nee Sloot). Loved father to Tonya (Brad) Ireland, Jonathan (Tarah) Oskam, Carla (Carl) Anso, Ineke Oskam. Proud Opa of Brooke, Olivia, Carla, Gracie, Jesse, Sophie, Landon, Logan and Cole. Dear brother of Alida, Ineke (dec’d), Gerda, Ann Mary, Helena and Marianne. John owned and operated Oskam Welding & Machine Ltd. Friends will be received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Wednesday (2-4 & 7-9 p.m.). Funeral service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 161 Norfolk St., Guelph on Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 11a.m.. Interment Johnson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Hospice Wellington would be appreciated. Special thanks to the nurses, staff and volunteers at Hospice Wellington for all the care and compassion they gave to John and our family during this difficult time.
