Victor Paradis, June 9, 1942 – March 29, 2024

Vic Paradis enjoyed just about every moment of his life. Not a day would go by when he didn't say how happy he was.

Vic's life began in Kapuskasing, where he met the love of his life, Denise. They married in 1965, and that's when their adventure began. After their wedding, they moved to Southern Ontario, where Vic started his banking career. After nearly 30 years with TD Bank, he and Denise started their own financial planning business in Guelph. He so enjoyed working with clients to plan their retirement dreams, and many became close friends. Their daughter, Christine, was born in 1967 and was the joy of his life. He loved her with his whole heart. She blessed him with two grandsons, Jonathon and Graham, and in 2019 and 2020, great-grandsons, Fletcher and Miles, brought another dimension to his wonderful life.

Over the years, Vic and Denise travelled the world and had some crazy adventures. Opening a restaurant in Jamaica comes to mind but it was the small things that Vic cherished most. Sitting at the kitchen table with Denise each morning and evening and talking about their day, watching cowboy movies, listening to Neil Diamond, boating on the Saint John River, gadgets of any kind, floating in the pool with a rum and coke, telling a great story, meeting up with the "Tim Rats" and most recently the "Happy Hour" group, falling asleep in a comfy chair, shopping, breaking the rules, hosting of any kind. But most of all, Vic loved people. He always had an open hand and an open heart when he met someone new.

Vic passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 29. He leaves behind his wife Denise, daughter Christine, son-in-law Douglas, grandsons Jonathon and Graham, daughter-in-law Casey, great-grandsons Fletcher and Miles, brother Dennis and his wife Suzanne, and sister Debbie and her husband Kim.

A private cremation will take place on May 3. A celebration of his life will be held on his birthday, June 9, at the Village by the Arboretum, 221 Stone Road East, Guelph, from 2-4 p.m. Please consider donating to Diabetes Canada or your favorite charity in memory of Vic. He will forever be missed.
