PELOSO, Dino Ferdinand

Posted

Peloso

(October 16, 1924 – November 30, 2018) - Peacefully at St Joseph’s Health Centre,
Guelph. Dino will be deeply missed by his beloved wife Donna, and his children
Dean (Heather), Paul (Lise), John (Margo), Glen (Sheldon Mahabir) and
Cathy Brouse (Doug). Admired and enjoyed by 10 grandchildren. Survived by
his sisters Hiole, Nora (Frank Michelucci) and Jean (Ray Dipplehofer), as
well as his brothers, Hugh (Audrey) and Peter (Barb). Predeceased by his
parents Gerunsio and Angelina (Ghegin), his sister Roseanne (Joe Mills)
and his brother Severino (Lorraine Tremblay).
Dino leaves behind a wonderful legacy and quite a few jokes reflecting his
love of word play and unique sense of humour. A lifetime Guelph resident,
Dino was hard working, an entrepreneur, a dedicated family man, an
impeccable dresser and a fabulous dancer – which he loved to do. He owned
and operated Peloso’s Market, a Guelph landmark with his brother Hugh for
almost 30 years. On the sale of that business, Dino embraced his love of
real estate, working for Century 21 and Royal City Realty where he
experienced a successful career as an Agent until his retirement. Dino
and Donna welcomed their well-earned time in retirement, spending winters
in Naples, Florida. An enthusiastic tennis player, Dino enjoyed fibbing
about his age so he could play and beat younger players in both Guelph and
Florida. Dino was a passionate man with wide-ranging opinions, which he
shared enthusiastically, on a great many topics. He was always curious
about people, cared about their stories, had a great smile and knew how to
draw people in with his charm. He is the source of many funny stories and
anecdotes, from both the family he grew up in and the one he raised. He
took great delight in his family’s accomplishments, which he also shared
enthusiastically. He will be much missed but not forgotten.
Visitation will be held at Gilbert MacIntyre & Son Funeral Home, Hart
Chapel, 1099 Gordon Street, Guelph, on Monday, December 10, 2018 from 7:00
to 9:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Rosary Church, 175 Emma
St, Guelph, on Tuesday, December 11, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Private cremation
has taken place. As expressions of sympathy, donations to the Alzheimer
Society or St. Joseph’s Health Centre Foundation would be appreciated by
the family. Donation cards are available at the funeral home, (519-821-5077)
