Perry Marion MM

Peacefully and surrounded by family, Marion Perry passed away on March 3, 2022 to be with her Saviour in her 89th year.

Beloved wife of the late John H. Perry of 61 years. Loving mother of Heather Perry and Ian Perry. Cherished grandmother of Katie Tripathi (Raj), Kristen Perry and Karissa Perry. Sister-in-law of Neville Perry (Brenda) and Frank Perry (Sharon), and the late Amy Hicks (George) and Fred Perry (Geraldine). Fondly remembered by 8 nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her mother, Irene McMullen (McDougall), and her father, Jack Johnstone.

Marion was born on August 17, 1933, in Guelph, ON. After marrying John, the couple moved to Fredericton, NB where John attended the University of New Brunswick. Marion worked at the bank and received her PHT (Putting Hubby Through). Later, the couple moved back to Guelph, where she was a stay-at-home mom to Heather and Ian. Marion returned to the bank and worked part-time at Terry Doyle Employment Agency when Heather and Ian were teenagers. Marion was an active member of local churches in Guelph, joining the auxiliary club at First Baptist Church and participating in many activities at Priory Park Baptist Church.

Marion had the gift of hospitality because she loved to host guests and prepare amazing home cooked meals. Marion enjoyed gardening, camping, travelling all over Canada and the world, baking and spending time with her grandchildren. She will always be remembered as a loving and welcoming woman who would do anything for her family and friends.

Visitation for Marion will be on Saturday, March 12, 2022 at 9:30am – 10:30am at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph . In light of the COVID19 pandemic, a funeral service was not held for Marion’s husband John in April, 2020. Consequently, a joint funeral service for John and Marion will follow the visitation at 11am at First Baptist Church, 255 Woolwich St., Guelph. Reception to follow. Interment for Marion will be held on a later date at Memory Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Guelph Food Bank would be greatly appreciated by the family.

A tree will be planted in memory of Marion M. E. Perry in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
