Born April 8, 1942 in Chester, England. Passed away at Hospice Wellington on Monday, March 28 at the age of 73. Dearly beloved mother of Jason Berringer and his wife Charlene Berringer. Predeceased by her parents Dorothy and Leonard Hughes. Loving sibling to Pamela Pace, Clifford Hughes, Tony Hughes, Derek Hughes and predeceased by her brother Gordon Hughes. Very cherished Grandmother to Anika and Christian Berringer. Loved by her Nieces and Nephews Alison Byrne, Angela Evans, Paula Murray, Colin Pace, Donna Drakes, Michelle Gonzales, Davina Hughes, Andrea Geering, Donna Drakes, Nicola Tidswell and Darren Hughes. She was a devout member of the Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and dedicated her life to loving, caring and serving others. She will be greatly missed by the many members of her church and friends that she made both near and far. She was a bright and caring woman who spread so much love and kindness to all those she touched. A celebration of her life will be held at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 190 Marksam Road, Guelph on Saturday, April 9, 2016. Visitation will be from 10 am until 11:45 am followed by the service from noon until 1pm with a luncheon to follow. Visitation will also be held on Friday April 8, 2016 from 7-9 pm at WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph. Edith cherished her time helping children at her Grandson’s school so in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions will be greatly appreciated to Ecole Harris Mill Public School Library; or to the Humanitarian Aid Fund of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - ldsphilanthropies.org. Donation envelopes will be available at both visitations.

A tree will be planted in memory of Edith M. Peters in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 18, 2016 at 2:30 pm.
