Passed away peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital on Tuesday, March 28th, 2017, with her daughter and granddaughter at her side. Pearl, who just celebrated her 107th Birthday, was the cherished wife of the late Joseph Petrany (1986). Dearly loved Mother of Cleo Melzer (John) of Puslinch, the late Joseph (1988) (Arlene) of Peterborough and Ken of B.C. Devoted Grandmother of Joe (Paula), Carl (Tracy) Melody, Mike (Marisa), Christine (Dave), Suzanne and K.J. Great Grandmother of five and dear sister-in-law of Zoltan Petrany of Florida.
Many thanks to Dr.Nairn and the wonderful support workers of CCAC and Mom's neighbours for their care and kindness. A Memorial Visitation will be held at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph on Saturday, April 29th, 2017 from 2:00 - 4:00 pm. A Graveside Service to be held at a later date. Mom loved the beauty of nature and she and Dad spent many hours in the great outdoors. She also appreciated the care she received at the Guelph General Hospital. If desired, memorial contributions can be made to The Nature Conservancy of Canada or to the Foundation of the Guelph General Hospital.
A tree will be planted in memory of Pearl Petrany in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest, University of Guelph Arboretum. Dedication service, Sunday, September 17, 2017 at 2:30 pm.
