March 8, 1954 – May 3, 2023
After a courageous year and a half battle with his illness, our dear Dad, Henryk Piszko passed away peacefully on May 3rd, 2023 in his 70th year at the Guelph General Hospital, surrounded by his friends and family.
Henryk was born to Jan and Julia Piszko in Gac, Poland on March 8th, 1954.
Upon completing high school, Henryk was conscripted in to the Polish Navy where he spent the next few years of his life, making lifelong friends and relationships, along the way he met his wife and mother of his two sons, Urszula. After over three decades of calling Poland his home, he moved his family to Canada in search of a better life, where he raised both his sons.
Full of great stories and warmest demeanor, Henryk was a great friend to a lot of people that could count on his selfless help in time of need.
Later in his life he was an avid outdoorsman. When Henryk wasn't fishing, he could be found going for walks, picking mushrooms, doing crossword puzzles, and spending time with his family.
He is predeceased by both his parents, brother Michal, and sister Janina Piszko.
Henryk is survived by his two sons, Slawek (Izabela) and Michal (Laura). He leaves behind his three grandchildren Alex, Maya, Lochlan, and many family and friends.
Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, where friends and relatives are invited to join for visitation on Tuesday, May 16th, 2023 from 2:00pm-4:00pm and again from 6:00pm-8:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at Sacred Heart Church, 98 Alice St, Guelph, on Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at 10:30am.
