POLLARD, Kathy (née Fair) - Passed away peacefully the morning of Sunday, July 31, 2022 at the age of 92.

Kathy/Kate was the youngest of ten children that grew up on the Fair farm just outside of Guelph. Kathy worked for many years in the insurance sector. Kathy met her best friend and love of her life, George, at a dance and later married in 1952. Together, they raised two children, Scott and Lee Ann, in Guelph. They went on many camping trips as far away as Florida. They had a trailer at Hoover Park where they were members for many years. After retirement, they moved to Sauble Beach and joined the Pinewoods Golf Club and wintered in Florida. Days were spent golfing, playing cards and shuffleboard and relaxing on the beach. Kathy and George never really spent a night apart during their time together. After almost 20 years of wintering in Florida and a very quick decision they moved back to Guelph. Kathy then joined the IODE and spent many hours at the storefront they operated in Guelph. Kathy will be remembered for her great baking, friendly spirit and willingness to try something new.

Predeceased by her late husband, George. She will be missed by her children, Scott (Suz), Lee Ann (Robert Ostrander); grandchildren, Ryan (Stacey), Kristi (Chris Liguori), Aspen Skidmore and Andy (Clara); great-grandchildren, Lena, Maxwell and Benjamin; nephew Peter Forsythe (Shelagh); as well as numerous extended family members and friends.

Kathy was predeceased by her parents, William (Bill) and  Elizabeth (Bessie); siblings, Jim, Jack, Tom, Ken, Alan, Sandy, John, Isabel, Gordon (Gordie); and daughter-in-law, Jana.

The family would like to thank The Elliott Community and the 4th Floor Nottingham nurses and staff for the wonderful care over the last six years through Kathy’s final days.

A private family service will take place next week. Arrangements entrusted to the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 519-822-0051 / www.wallcustance.com.

Kathy has requested memorial donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

A tree will be planted in memory of E. Kathleen (Kathy) Pollard in the Wall-Custance Memorial Forest.
