Passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 21, 2022. Adelinda Prigione, born October 24, 1921, was in her 101st year. She was the beloved wife of the late Florio “Frank” Prigione (2007). Loving mother of Peter and his wife Linda, the late Donald (2008) and his wife Louise, Carol, David and his wife Diane and Barbara and her husband Henry. Cherished grandma of Stephan (Toby), Rachel, Tim (Lauren), Kevin, Derrick, Jackie (Ian) and Joseph. Adored great-grandma of Jaden, Deven, Victoria, Alexis, Tatiana and Flora. Dear sister of the late Florio Marconi (Norine). She will be fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews and the Tosato family in Sudbury.

The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks to Mom’s nieces Donna (Roger) O’Malley, Joan (Vince) Mammoliti, Linda (John) Pelligrini and to her God-daughter Laura (Wayne) LePage for the special visits and phone calls, filled with love and laughter. We would also like to acknowledge the wonderful care and compassion of Dr. Anna Issakoff-Meller, given to both of our parents over the years. As well, we would like to acknowledge her many PSW’s, especially Dimuthu and Nancy and her caregiver Willa for the exceptional care given to Mom.

Our mother devoted her life to our family and her faith. We fondly remember the many hours Mom spent in the kitchen making homemade food and putting down preserves from our immensely large garden. We kids did not appreciate the garden and the many hours of weeding until it came to harvest time and the meals Mom would create from the bounty. Mom sewed, knitted and crocheted since she was very young and put those talents to good use by making clothes for us. She volunteered for 4H when we were growing up. Mom was a member of the St. John’s Parish CWL and through the CWL, she also volunteered her time at the St. Joseph’s Hospital. Until the age of 98, she knitted sweaters and hats that were sent to Haiti for babies born with HIV. Over the course of 80+ years, she collected stamps to send to The Redemptorist Mission Stamp Bursary to raise money for the homeless.

Mom, you worked hard all your life and now it’s time to rest. We love you and you will be greatly missed by all of us.

Resting at the Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin Chapel, 252 Dublin Street, North, Guelph.
