Born on September 4, 1924, passed away peacefully at the age of 95 on
August 14, 2020 at Wellington Terrace Long Term Care in Fergus, where she
lived for the past 4 years under excellent care. She was predeceased by
her husband of 54 years; Donald Quant of Guelph. Survived by her daughter
Deborah Hopkins and son-in-law Rick residing in Airdrie, Alberta, grandson
Christopher, granddaughter Lauren and great-granddaughters Ella and Abby;
also, by Darlene Bergs, son-in-law Peter residing in Huntsville, Ontario,
grandson David, and granddaughters Catherine, Caroline and Stephanie.
Dorothy grew up in London, Ontario; the daughter of Clara and Norman Ross
Grover along with her older brother Frank and younger sisters Betty and
Marion.

At the end of grade 8, she left school to work and help support her
family. At the age of 18 Dorothy attended the Dominion Business College
in Toronto and completed all four years of high school in one year. She
then attended the Ontario Pentecostal Bible College. In 1952, Dorothy
graduated from Guelph General Hospital's nursing program where she later
taught after earning her Nursing Education Diploma from Western University
in 1958.
A year after meeting Don, Dorothy left teaching and married in 1962 in
Guelph. She returned to work in 1973 as a mobile nurse for MDS doing
medical interviews for insurance companies and retired in 1988.
Dorothy enjoyed camping, fishing, canoeing, gardening, various crafts,
traveling and having pets.

Donations may be made to Wellington Terrace Long Term Care or to the
Guelph Humane Society in lieu of flowers.

A Campfire and Condolences gathering will be held at the Bergs home, 354
West Airport Road in Huntsville on Saturday, August 22 from 6:30-9 p.m.
