RACHIELE, Salvatorina

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Salvatorina Rachiele, surrounded by her family in the comfort of her home on July 22, 2022. Pre-deceased by her loving husband of 56 years, Luigi. Proud mother of Stella, Franca and Bruno. Doting Nonna of Decimus (Alex), Sabrina, Dante, Aidan and Isabella. Pre-deceased by her parents Salvatore and Maria Francheschina Manno and survived by her brother Joe (Lucy) Manno. She was a loving aunt to many nieces and nephews. Everyone was always welcome at her house and her heart. She always gave all she had to her family, friends, her co-workers and even the students at the University of Guelph. She will always be remembered for her kind heart and her infectious smile.

Turina will be missed by her many friends and extended family. Turina came to Canada in 1966 to marry the love of her life who came earlier to prepare everything for their special day. Family was the most important thing to her. Turina loved to cook a feast at every dinner and fed whoever showed up. Everyone was welcome at the dinner table. She enjoyed working at the University of Guelph because it was her social time with co-workers and students. It never surprised us when she made extra food to take to the university for some students because they wanted to taste her home cooked food.

Turina was the matriarch of the family and she had the respect of all her children and grandchildren till the very end. She was the strongest woman we knew and a true angel who fought her cancer battle until the very end.

Resting at Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Hart Chapel, 1099 Gordon St., Guelph, where the family will receive friends and relatives for visitation on Wednesday, July 27, from 2:00pm - 4:00pm and from 6:00pm - 9:00pm with Vigil Prayers at 6:00pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. John's Parish, 45 Victoria Rd N, Guelph, on Thursday, July 28, at 10:00am followed by a burial at Marymount Cemetery, 5400 Hwy 6 S, Guelph.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Juravinski Hospital and Cancer Centre Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Donations can be made by cash or cheque at the funeral home or online following the link below her obituary at www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com .
