RAFFIN, Enrico Domenico 'Henry'

Posted

Enrico (Prayer Card Pic)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Enrico “Henry”
Raffin on October 2, 2021. Loving husband of 64 years to Maria (nee
Piovesan). Beloved father of Susanna Tucker (Fred) and Tony Raffin
(Gloria). Cherished Nonno to Cara Tucker (Eddie Ma), Joseph Tucker
(Taz), Arthur Raffin, Bobby Raffin and Alicia Raffin (Ashton Koloszar).
Proud Nonno Biso to Theo Ma, Henry Ma, and Kaelen Tucker. Predeceased by
his sister Elena DeCorso and his parents Arturo and Alice Raffin. Will
be fondly remembered by all friends and extended family.

Henry was born in Cordenons, Italy and immigrated to Canada at the age
of 15. He worked hard his whole life, at times simultaneously at
multiple jobs like bricklaying, antenna installing, taxi driving, and
maintaining various properties. He retired after thirty years as a
custodian for the Guelph Police Services.

Henry loved his family profoundly. He was happiest when we were all
gathered. He was always available to help his family in any way. His
devotion will be truly missed.

Like his father, Arturo; Henry had a passion for gardening. Besides his
own vegetable and flower gardens. He also planted and maintained roses
at the Guelph Police Services.

Henry enjoyed playing cards. He would play “Skip-Bo” with his wife, Mary
every morning after breakfast. He would always be involved with card
games at family get-togethers.

Henry’s family would like to thank Dr. Anne-Marie Zajdlik, the many
nurses, PSWs, other caregivers, and Hospice Wellington for all their
compassionate and attentive care.

Arrangements entrusted to Gilbert MacIntyre and Son Funeral Home, Dublin
Chapel, 252 Dublin Street N, Guelph. A private Funeral Mass took place
on Wednesday, October 6, 2021.

Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society, Hospice Wellington or the
Bracelet of Hope (braceletofhope.ca) would be greatly appreciated by the
family. Donation cards are available at the funeral home or online at
www.gilbertmacintyreandson.com.
