It is with immense sadness that we, the family, announce the sudden passing of Reginald Lloyd Reid, at the age of 54, on Saturday, October 5, 2019. Reg was born on March 19, 1965 in North Sydney, Nova Scotia but resided in Guelph, Ontario. He was an amazing man and will be remembered by everyone who had the pleasure to know him, as a kind and gentle soul who had love and respect for everyone he met. He was the type of man that would give you the shirt off his back without even thinking twice. Reg was a family man; his family meant everything to him. His two beautiful granddaughters were the light of his life and he would have given them the world if he was able. Reg always knew how to make you laugh. He was sarcastic but loving all at the same time. Reg will be greatly missed by his best friend and loving wife of 30 years, Alison. His daughter, Mallory (Jay), son Tyler and his granddaughters; Addie and Harlow. He is the youngest of 6 siblings and will be sadly missed by his brothers; Tom (Marion), Jack (Bev), Charlie (Wendy), Kevin (Florence), and his sister Debbie (Sandy). Reg was a special “Papa” to the grandchildren he chose; Raiden, Alexis, Avaney, Breton, Rhett and Charolette. He will be remembered as an amazing uncle to many nieces and nephews and a wonderful friend to all who knew him. Reg is predeceased by his father Hepburn Reid, mother Doris Reid and his son by choice Stephen Burton. There will be a service to celebrate Reg’s life on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. followed by reception at GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice. We invite you to leave your memories and donations online and they will be forwarded to the family.
